Large sassafras prune. I love the smell of fresh cut sassafras. Some people smell a root beer smell while others often describe the smell of fruit loops. We were at a gorgeous house in Lakeland

           One of the limbs on this oak was beginning to encroach on the roof and siding of the house. We notched that limb so it swung out over the bottle bush and into the yard (while avoiding the clothesline). Glad we were able to provide some peace of mind to the homeowners.

          Did some work on a pair of queen palms. One healthy palm in need of a trim and the other had started rotting from the base. It was so soft at the bottom you could push your finger all the way into the base of the tree. After trimming the first palm, I moved over and pieced down the smaller unhealthy palm. With the unhealthy palm removed

           There were 2 40+ year old oak trees that had not seen any pruning during their lifetime. They had grown over the back fence of 3 different yards, and were making quite the mess in those yards. We set to work clearing one yard at a time. We ended up pulling out 7500 lbs of oak tree from those 3 different yards. All the neighbors were incredibly happy and were excited to be able to enjoy their back yards without the overgrown mess.

           Over 12 palm trees were in desperate need of pruning. We removed any and all dead or diseased fronds. You need to be careful when you are doing date palms as their fronds carry 7.5" spikes near the base of the frond. When (I saw when because doing that many it is bound to happed) you are stuck by one of these spikes, the area becomes swollen and painful. The spines don't have a particular toxin or poison in them, but they do carry quite a bit of nasty bacteria that an induce infection. It is not a fun day doing tree work when you get stuck in the back of the hand with one of these guys. My hand was swollen for 3 days straight! Historically (see picture below) palm trees have been seen as notoriously dirty trees. They are home to bark scorpions and many native Florida snakes (rat snake most common). Did I mention Black Widow spiders? Those too. Needless to say, palms aren't my favorite pruning job there is out there.

           This particular sycamore wasn't too big, but it had started to destroy the privacy fence and needed to go. We had the tree down in about an hour. Clean up was tricky as we couldn't get any equipment in the backyard due to space constraints. We carried each piece out of the back yard and to the trailer waiting in the street. The threat to the fence is no longer an issue, and the yard should see some more lush grass growth as it now receives direct sunlight for most of the day.

          The privacy hedge had grown a little out of control. It needed to be reduced by about three feet sop that the neighbors offie view of the intercostal was not impeded by the hedge. We reduced the overall height, shaped the entirety of the hedge, and cleaned up all the trimmings (paying particular attention to keeping to pool clean). It was a great day by the water.

          A neighbor needed her bottle bush trimmed. It had been previously trimmed by her lawn care professionals and she wasn't happy with the work they had done. We shaped it and removed quite a bit from the right hand side as it had become overgrown. I love jobs in my neighborhood because I get to look at my work every day when I come home. The bush grew into a fantastic shape and flowered beautifully.

           We will be back to trim it again in the early spring to give it that great shape and make it perfect for flowering.

           Royal palm tree needed to be cleaned up a bit. Would you believe it if I told you that some of those fronds weighed 30lbs?! The first time I did a palm that size I was astonished how heavy they were. This gorgeous palm is located in Clearwater just on the other side of the island bird sanctuary. It was a awesome climb at an absolutely beautiful house.

           Homeowner was concerned about some oak limbs that were overhanging the roof. It was just before storm season and he was worried that strong winds would bring the limb down on top of his home. Some light rigging and a few cuts and problem solved. We were able to provide the clearance and peace of mind that he was needing.

I could fit my entire arm inside of the tree (fully outstretched, fingertips to shoulder). It was one of the most difficult trees I have removed to date. There was limited space between houses, air-conditioning units, and the lake. It was too far away from the street for a crane to reach, there wasn't even enough room for a skid steer to slide between houses to assist in carrying out the wood.

            Two large oak limbs overhanging the roof of customer's home. She was looking for some peace of mind during some of the stronger storms we get in Central Florida, and wanted a bit of clearance. We rigged the limbs using an arborist block and swing them out over the roof using rigging rings to redirect the load. It was a technical job that required precision on the part of our climber and ground crew.

           This dead pine was constantly dropping limbs. The homeowner was concerned about it rubbing and creating issues for the adjacent trees when the next set of storms came through.

           Large water oak overhanging power lines, a fence, and the pool lanai. Was removed safely with no damage using a Good Rigging Control System and great teamwork from the Monkey Business Tree Care Specialist Team. The only way you would ever know we were there was the stump that was cut level with ground. The Rudman's were extremely pleasant to work for and were ecstatic about how their yard look without their water oak causing them any further issues.

  <p>

          There were several oak limbs that were over hanging the roof next-door. We rigging all the limbs that were overhanging the neighbors roof to prevent any damage and removed all the dead wood from the oak to prevent any damage from falling limbs. As always the clean up job was impeccable, you couldn't even notice we had been there (minus the raised limbs from the roof)!
